EISCAT Council appoints next Director

The EISCAT Council, meeting in Kunming, China, on 30-31 October, formally appointed Dr Esa Turunen to be the next Director of the Association with effect from 1 January 2009.

The outgoing Director, Professor Tony van Eyken, will leave the Association on 31 December 2008, having completed his term.
